    The house looks like new. The team have done a great job. They were friendly and considerate at all times. EWI Specialist Ltd offers a very competitive price for 100mm of polystyrene insulation. Another firm asked for much more, for just 70mm of similar insulation. The system that EWI Specialist uses includes several finish layers on top of the polystyrene and the result is quite robust. Although occasional setbacks were encountered during the project, Sebastian accommodated unplanned demands with good grace, even though they cost him time and money. Working with him was such a positive experience. Part of the project involved cutting the cast iron Ventilated Stack (soil pipe), to realign it with the new wall dimensions. Cast iron can be brittle, but the guys confidently cut through it with no problem, using an angle grinder.

What is EWI?

Houses built before 1920 typically have solid walls with no cavity which means insulation can be applied either to the external or internal face of the wall. External Wall Insulation involves fixing a layer of insulating material to the outside wall, then covering it with a base coat render followed by a final decorative finish.
